Position Objective: An Accounting Assistant position objective centers on maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records, ensuring strict compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the efficient and timely production of reliable financial reports. This involves ledger activities, including reconciliations and journal entries, with a continuous focus on process improvement to optimize workflows.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Edit and Post prior end of day batches
Prepare and e-mail prior day sales reports
Prepare prior day visa/Linx Reports and Compare to RBL Reports
Prepare prior day Vat reports
Prepare and e-mail prior day FX bank balances reports and outstanding deposits
Prepare and enter journal vouchers once approved
Enter Deposits – All Branches and RBL VISA/LINX
Verify Customer payments (CASH) received on bank account
Verify Cheque & Voucher information Passed from A/P
Verify wire transfer information/USD purchases/credit card payments from Foreign A/P
Verify Customs information/Duty/Freight Calculations before it being pass to A/P for preparations for a cheque.
Filing of Deposits/Journals
Weekly Payroll-Ensuring Employee Attendance Information is correct absent/Overtime
Preparing letters for Purchase of Foreign currencies and Foreign/Local wire transfer payments
Prepare Vat Payments
Prepare Business Levy/Green Fund Payments-BHSIL/Legacy
Prepare C.S.O Survey of reports
End of Month Sales Reports
Bank Reconciliations – (RBL USD/EURO/GBP/BONUS Points/VISA LINX) (RBC TT$/EURO)
Prepare NGCTT Payment – Request Statement and Prepare Letter
Complete requested Vendor application Forms (Local & Foreign)
Monthly Payroll – Ensuring Employee Attendance and Information is correct-Absenteeism/Overtime
Verify NIS/PAYE information before being passed to A/P for Preparation of Cheque
Audit Analysis-Prepare audit file for auditors with all general ledger Accounts Reconciliations
Assist Auditors – in Acquiring requested information/Reports/Statements
Manually Updating Trial Balance once adjustments is made
