1. JOB PURPOSE

The Area Inspection Engineer provides inspection engineering support to the organisation. The jobholder provides competent advice on the inspection and maintenance of static pressure equipment in accordance with relevant statutory regulations, industry standards and Company specifications.

The jobholder is required to operate in a fast paced, dynamic environment with frequently changing priorities. Extended hours may at times be required to manage activities and complete deliverables within timelines. Work is conducted both in an office and plant environment.  

 

 

2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Development and management of plans for the inspection and certification of static pressure equipment. 

• Review and assessment of inspection findings, and recommendation of any required remediation actions to address  identified issues and/ or changes to future inspection plans.

• Implementation of agreed inspection strategies, plans, and processes, ensuring that inspection related activities are safely and efficiently executed.

• Communication of inspection findings, assessments and recommendations, to appropriate personnel and teams.

• Verification of repair, refurbishment and replacement work to static pressure equipment.

4. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE: 

• A Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering or other engineering discipline from a recognised, accredited institution.

• A minimum of five (5) years of recent and relevant experience as an Inspection or Integrity engineer in a major operating process plant.

• Excellent knowledge of the design, construction, inspection, maintenance and repair of Process Equipment and systems 

• Experience in performing assessments on equipment integrity and making  recommendations for restoration of integrity as required.

• Knowledge of plant maintenance philosophies and systems.

• Good knowledge of the relevant Industry Codes and Standards- ASME, API, ASTM, ANSI, ASNT, AWS, NACE, as well as applicable statutory regulations in Trinidad and Tobago.

• Current industry certification appropriate to the inspection to be carried out: API-510 / API-570 / API-653 / AWS-CWI.

• High level of safety awareness and knowledge of applicable regulations and good practices within the Oil and Gas industry.

• Working knowledge of Inspection Database Management System (IDMS) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) would be an asset.
