RESPONSIBILITES

1. Lead daily activities, which includes but not limited to, job planning, scoping and scheduling, using departmental resources effectively, troubleshooting and resolving break in’s and power suite issues in a timely manner. Lead jobs to completion and report daily on job status/progress.

2. Perform root cause analysis, develop and implement corrective and improvement actions, development of Preventative Maintenance Activities/Plans (PM’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), One Point Lessons (OPL’s) and Action Control Lists (ACL’s). 

3. Develop and implement initiatives to improve processes and equipment reliability and availability.

4. Contribute to achievement of department’s Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) (e.g. Breakdown rate, Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), Budget compliance, Cost Reduction).

5. Contribute to improvement of the human resource in the department (e.g. Research and share technical knowledge, provide training).

6. Support the daily/shutdown planning and scheduling processes - preparing job scopes and methodology, resource requirements, requisitions; prioritize jobs based on reliability data, A3, ACL’s and Work Order (WO) listings.

7. Complete projects as assigned within agreed timelines and specifications.

8. Prepare and communicate updates and reports, attend meetings as required.

9. Supervise the Maintenance Technicians during weekend and holiday duty (duty cycle).

10. Inform the Supervisor / Superintendent on outstanding issues and pending risks.

11. Drive safety and improve the safety culture of the department by performing the necessary job hazard analyses, risk assessments, discussions and training; acquire the tools and equipment to minimize identified risks; ensure actions identified to minimize risks are complied with.

12. Liaise with the Purchasing Department to follow-up on critical spare and outstanding parts orders.

13. Actively participate in activities to build team spirit at every level of the organization.

14. Adhere to, actively promote and ensure compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policies. 

15. Report any unsafe acts immediately to your Direct Supervisor; operate in a safe manner, using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.

16. Execute all relevant responsibilities as outlined in the Roles, Responsibilities and Authorities Matrix (MT-GM-004) to ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS).

17. Perform any other related duties that may be assigned.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

 A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or any other related discipline from a recognized institution.

EXPERIENCE

 A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment. 

 Experience in troubleshooting and making recommendations. Experience in hydraulics will be an asset.
