JOB PURPOSE
The Assistant Vice President – Strategy leads enterprise strategy development, performance insights, and transactions analytics across the Group. The role oversees strategic planning, competitive and market analysis, integrated value cases, and M&A/transaction support, ensuring alignment of Strategy, Business Development, and M&A pipelines to Group priorities. The AVP also acts as a strategic advisor to business unit leaders and the Senior Leadership Team.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead enterprise strategic planning processes, including the development of strategic plans, dashboards, and executive presentations.

• Oversee portfolio performance insights (BI, dashboards, strategic KPIs) to support executive decision-making.

• Manage economic evaluations and investment cases in partnership with Finance and business units, including assumptions, sensitivities, and scenario analysis.

• Coordinate and integrate Strategy, BD, and M&A pipelines to ensure alignment with Group priorities.

• Lead the analytics function of Strategy and Transactions, including financial modeling, valuations, and data analysis.

• Provide guidance on due diligence and corporate development initiatives.

• Coach, develop, and mentor strategy and analytics talent; establish standards, templates, and governance for strategic work.

• Act as a key partner to BU leaders, supporting strategy quality, execution alignment, and enterprise-level decision-making.

• Support the development of Board papers and presentations for Portfolio, OSP, and Annual Strategy Review processes.

• Coordinate research and analysis for strategic initiatives, including new markets or business opportunities.

• Integrated growth pipeline reporting (organic + inorganic)

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Proficiency in financial modelling, investment analysis, and corporate finance.

• Strong data analytics skills, including tools such as SQL, R, Python, SAS, or equivalent.

• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and visualization tools (e.g., Think-cell, Tableau, Power BI).

• Experience in economic evaluation, scenario modelling, and KPI/dashboard design.

• Market research and competitive intelligence capabilities.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• MBA, Master of Finance, or related post-graduate qualification preferred.

• CFA Charter holder or equivalent

 

EXPERIENCE

• 10–15+ years experience in strategy, business development, and corporate transactions, including 3–5 years in a leadership or management capacity.
