BIM Coordination Technician
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented BIM Coordination Technician to support construction coordination efforts through the development, maintenance, and review of Building Information Models (BIM). The successful candidate will work with multidisciplinary design models to support clash coordination, generate coordination drawings, and assist with organizing model-based issues for review and resolution.
This role requires proficiency with Autodesk Revit, familiarity with Autodesk Navisworks, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering, construction, and coordination teams to maintain accurate project documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and edit discipline-specific Autodesk Revit models to support construction coordination activities.
- Develop and maintain coordination drawings generated from BIM models for use by project teams.
- Modify model elements based on coordination requirements, design updates, and approved resolutions.
- Assist with the preparation, organization, and tracking of Navisworks clash detection results.
- Compile and format clash reports for review during BIM coordination meetings.
- Maintain clash tracking logs, issue status updates, and coordination documentation.
- Verify model updates align with documented clash resolutions.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to resolve model conflicts.
- Maintain project BIM standards, including:
- View templates
- Worksets
- Model organization
- Naming conventions
- Sheet setup and documentation requirements
- Support the BIM Coordinator/Manager in maintaining federated model workflows and coordination deliverables.
Required Qualifications
- Experience using Autodesk Revit for building modeling and documentation.
- Basic understanding of Autodesk Navisworks Manage workflows, including:
- Model federation
- Clash Detective
- Saved viewpoints
- Clash grouping and reporting
- Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings.
- Understanding of 3D coordination concepts and construction documentation workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established BIM standards.
- Ability to manage multiple coordination issues and track progress through completion.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of BIM, drafting, VDC, or construction coordination experience.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary building systems:
- Architectural
- Structural
- Mechanical
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Fire protection
- Experience producing shop drawings or installation coordination drawings.
- Familiarity with:
- BIM Execution Plans (BEP)
- Clash resolution workflows
- Model version control
- Bluebeam Revu
- Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM 360
- Experience supporting construction-phase BIM coordination.
Desired Technical Skills
