Job Summary

The Graphic Designer is responsible for creating high-quality visual designs for signage, banners, posters, vehicle graphics, and other branding materials while supporting the production, assembly, fabrication, and installation processes. The incumbent will ensure that all projects meet client specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and project deadlines.

This role combines creative graphic design with hands-on production support and requires proficiency in graphic design software, sign manufacturing processes, and installation preparation.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Graphic Design & Creative Production

  • Design signage, banners, posters, decals, vehicle graphics, and other visual communication materials.
  • Develop artwork in accordance with client specifications and brand guidelines.
  • Prepare print-ready files for production.
  • Operate industry-standard graphic design software including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW or equivalent applications.
  • Make revisions based on client feedback and production requirements.
  • Ensure designs are accurate with respect to dimensions, colours, materials, and installation requirements.


2. Sign Production & Manufacturing Support

  • Prepare materials for printing, fabrication, and assembly.
  • Assist with banner, poster, and general signage production.
  • Operate printing, cutting, laminating, and related production equipment.
  • Apply vinyl graphics to various materials and surfaces with precision.
  • Assist in the assembly of illuminated and non-illuminated signs.
  • Support fabrication processes including frame preparation and finishing.
  • Ensure production quality standards are consistently maintained.


3. Installation Support

  • Assist with loading, transporting, and unloading signs, tools, and equipment.
  • Prepare installation sites by removing existing signage and preparing mounting surfaces.
  • Measure and position signage accurately.
  • Assist with installation of signs, vinyl graphics, illuminated signs, and other display materials.
  • Ensure installations comply with project specifications and safety requirements.
  • Remove waste materials and leave installation sites clean and safe.


4. Maintenance & Repairs

  • Perform maintenance and repair work on existing signage as assigned.
  • Replace damaged vinyl, lighting components, and sign hardware where required.
  • Assist in troubleshooting sign defects and recommending corrective actions.


5. Equipment & Safety

  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and production equipment safely.
  • Maintain assigned tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Follow all Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) policies and safe work procedures.
  • Wear and properly utilize required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Report equipment defects, hazards, and safety concerns promptly.


6. General Responsibilities

  • Ensure all assigned projects meet quality, production, and client expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with production, fabrication, and installation teams.
  • Meet assigned production schedules and project deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Perform any other related duties assigned by Management.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) CSEC/O'Level passes or equivalent Secondary School education.
  • Certificate, Diploma or training in Graphic Design, Multimedia Design or a related discipline will be an asset.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW or equivalent graphic design software.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in graphic design, signage production, printing, or a related field will be an asset.
  • Experience operating large-format printers, plotters, laminators, or cutting machines will be an asset.
