Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious, and hardworking Installation Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation of signage, materials, tools, and equipment to and from customer sites while supporting the installation, assembly, maintenance, and repair of various signage solutions. This role requires a combination of safe driving practices, physical labour, technical aptitude, and excellent teamwork to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation & Logistics

  • Safely operate company vehicles to transport employees, signage, tools, equipment, and installation materials.
  • Load, secure, transport, and offload materials safely to prevent damage.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report maintenance issues promptly.
  • Maintain assigned vehicles in a clean and serviceable condition.
  • Comply with all road traffic regulations and company driving policies.

Sign Installation

  • Assist with the installation, positioning, mounting, and securing of indoor and outdoor signage.
  • Prepare installation sites, including the removal of existing signage and surface preparation.
  • Apply vinyl graphics and adhesive signage to a variety of surfaces.
  • Assist with electrical connections for illuminated signage where qualified.
  • Perform general site clean-up following installation activities.

Production & Manufacturing Support

  • Assist with the preparation and assembly of signage for production and installation.
  • Support the fabrication of banners, posters, sign frames, and general signage.
  • Assist with vinyl application, frame assembly, finishing works, and packaging for transportation.
  • Operate production equipment and machinery safely when required.

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Assist in inspecting signage for damage or defects.
  • Perform basic maintenance, repairs, and replacement of sign components.
  • Support the maintenance of illuminated and non-illuminated signage.

Health, Safety & Equipment

  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, machinery, ladders, and access equipment.
  • Wear and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Follow Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) policies and safe work procedures at all times.
  • Report accidents, hazards, unsafe conditions, and equipment defects immediately.

General Duties

  • Provide professional and courteous customer service while on client sites.
  • Work collaboratively with the production and installation teams to meet project deadlines.
  • Follow supervisor instructions and company procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum Secondary School education.
  • Valid Trinidad and Tobago Driver's Permit appropriate for the vehicle operated.
  • Clean and satisfactory driving record.
  • Previous experience in driving, construction, installation, fabrication, or a similar field is preferred.
  • Technical, vocational, or trade certification in Electrical, Construction, Welding, Fabrication, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
  • Experience installing signage, vinyl graphics, illuminated signs, or similar products is an advantage.
  • Basic computer literacy.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

  • Safe operation of hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment.
  • Strong understanding of workplace safety and safe lifting techniques.
  • Ability to read and follow installation specifications and technical instructions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong time management and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and working at heights.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and travel to installation sites when required.
