Job Description: Heavy Equipment Operator

Equipment: Front-End Loader and Excavator

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operate a front-end loader to load trucks with aggregates, soil, and other materials in accordance with operational requirements.
2. Operate an excavator to perform digging, excavation, earthmoving, and material-handling activities as required.
3. Stockpile materials and maintain designated storage areas in an orderly and accessible manner.
4. Load, move, distribute, and position materials efficiently to support daily operational activities.
5. Conduct daily pre-operational inspections of assigned equipment and promptly report mechanical faults, defects, or maintenance requirements to the designated supervisor.
6. Operate all heavy equipment in accordance with established safety procedures, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable site regulations.
7. Maintain awareness of workers, vehicles, and other equipment operating within the work area to prevent accidents and damage to property.
8. Follow instructions from supervisors and complete assigned tasks within established operational time frames.
9. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment and comply with all applicable workplace health and safety requirements.

Preferred Experience

1. Demonstrated practical experience operating front-end loaders, particularly in loading trucks with aggregates and other bulk materials.
2. Practical experience operating excavators for digging, excavation, and material-handling activities.
3. Experience with stockpiling, loading, moving, and handling construction materials, soil, aggregates, or similar materials.
4. Familiarity with heavy equipment safety procedures, pre-operational inspections, and basic equipment maintenance.
5. Previous experience working in a quarry, construction site, material-handling facility, or similar operational environment would be an asset.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proven experience operating front-end loaders and excavators.

1. 1. Possession of relevant heavy equipment operator certificates, competency qualifications, or training credentials appropriate to the equipment being operated.
   2. A valid driver's permit, where required for the duties assigned, including the movement of applicable vehicles or equipment on public roads.
   3. Knowledge of heavy equipment operating procedures and workplace health and safety practices.

• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and communicate effectively with supervisors and other workers.

1. Ability to work outdoors in an operational environment and perform duties under varying weather and site conditions.
2. Good situational awareness, sound judgement, reliability, and a strong commitment to safe equipment operation.
3. Dependable, punctual, and available to commence employment immediately.
