The Inventory / Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, managing, and maintaining accurate inventory records, monitoring stock levels, and coordinating with various departments to ensure efficient supply chain operations. The incumbent should possess excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Duties and Responsibilities for Receiving both Local and Foreign Goods
1. Maintain accurate inventory records, including tracking stock levels, product codes, and descriptions.
2. Conduct regular inventory audits to reconcile physical stock with inventory records.
3. Monitor inventory levels and anticipate potential shortages or excesses, taking appropriate actions to optimize stock levels.
4. Coordinate with purchasing and receiving departments to ensure timely and accurate inventory replenishment.
5. Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to fulfill customer orders and resolve any inventory-related issues.
6. Generate and analyze inventory reports, identifying trends and making recommendations for process improvements.
7. Assist in implementing inventory control procedures to minimize loss, theft, and damage.
8. Conduct periodic cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.
9. Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area, ensuring proper labeling and segregation of items.
10. Assist in the implementation of inventory management software and train other team members on its usage.
11. Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt, and inspect the contents for any damages
12. Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price etc.).
13. Contact the supplier or shipper if a mistake is identified or the procurement team.
14. Ensure that unsatisfactory shipments are returned and replacements are received
15. Other various tasks as assigned.
16. Must comply with all company rules and regulations and Occupational Safety & Health Rules.
Qualification & Experience: Education & Training
• Associate's degree in Business Administration or CIP certification
• Certification in Inventory Management will be an asset
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the field
• Knowledge and experience in cycle counting and inventory management processes will be an asset
• Proficient in inventory management and Microsoft Office applications.
• Proficient in oral and written communication.
• Must have good manual dexterity, must be able to lift, pull, or push as necessary
• Must have good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Must be able to work on Saturdays
• Must be able to work late occasionally.
