Furness Chemicals Limited is looking for an Operations Supervisor for their manufacturing plant to oversees daily production activities, ensuring that processes run smoothly, efficiently, and safely to meet production targets and quality standards. This role involves managing a team, optimizing workflows, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
• Production Oversight: Supervise, coordinate, and schedule daily manufacturing activities and personnel to meet production goals and deadlines.
• Quality Control: Monitor production processes to ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications, implementing quality control procedures and corrective actions as needed.
• Safety and Compliance: Enforce strict safety protocols and procedures, conduct regular safety inspections, and ensure all operations comply with company policies and industry regulations.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, train, and evaluate the performance of plant employees. This includes assigning tasks, providing feedback, and addressing personnel issues promptly to foster a positive and productive work environment.
• Efficiency and Process Improvement: Identify operational inefficiencies and implement lean manufacturing methodologies to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and improve productivity.
• Inventory and Resources: Coordinate the use of resources, including equipment and materials, and manage inventory levels to ensure a smooth workflow and minimize downtime.
Qualifications and Skills
• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or a related field is often preferred.
• Experience: Proven experience (typically 3-5+ years) in a supervisory or leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
• Leadership: Strong leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills to motivate and guide a diverse workforce.
• Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production management, and quality control principles.
• Problem-Solving: Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities to address issues as they arise.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate expectations, provide feedback, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities and demands.
