Position Summary

Manages the Accounts Payable, Receivables, and Billings, in addition to compiling financial statements, reviewing data, month-end and year-end closings, tax returns, bank reconciliations, general ledger reviews, forecasting and budgeting. Ensures financial compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Supervises the Finance Team, ensuring implementation of the Company’s financial and operational strategies, through motivation, effective mentorship, training and development and performance management.
  • Review vendor and customer reconciliations for all companies.
  • Liaise with Board of Inland Revenue (BIR) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC) on tax matters.
  • Review fortnightly and monthly payrolls.
  • Forward monthly credit card statements to Managers; forward the payments spreadsheet to the Accounts Payable Supervisor to apply to the advance account.
  • Review monthly financials including Balance Sheet reconciliations for Grand Bay Paper (GBP) & Trinidad Tissues Limited (TTL).
  • Enter manual journals for GBP and TTL.
  • Review bank reconciliations for all companies.
  • Prepare schedules to submit to Eximbank.
  • Review monthly intercompany summaries.
  • Review promotions accruals spreadsheet.
  • Calculate depreciation and maintain the fixed assets register.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly corporate templates for GBP and TTL.
  • Assist with the preparation of the consolidated corporate template for Trinidad.
  • Prepare the quarterly Group consolidated financial package.
  • Prepare draft statutory financials for all 3 standalone companies.
  • Prepare draft consolidated statutory financials for Grand Bay St Lucia.
  • Prepare all audit schedules for the Auditors; liaise with the Auditors for all queries.
  • Coordinate year-end stock count and prepare analysis.
  • Prepare CSO financial reports for GBP and TTL.
  • Assist with the yearly budget preparation for GBP and TTL.
  • Execute all relevant responsibilities as outlined in the Roles, Responsibilities and Authorities Matrix (MT-GM-004) to ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Perform any other related duties that may be assigned.

Education and Training
  • Professional Accounting Qualification such as the ACCA or equivalent.
  • Capability in verbal and written communication in Spanish will be an asset.

Experience
  • A minimum of seven (7) years’ progressive accounting experience with at least three (3) years at a Supervisory level.
  • Experience in manufacturing operations and commercialization will be an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles, economic principles, applicable financial laws, codes and regulations.
  • Working knowledge of an accounting software.
  • Working knowledge of an ERP system.
  • Working knowledge of statistics.
