JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Human Resource Officer (Generalist) is a key member of the HR team responsible for executing a broad range of HR functions to support the effective operation of the organization. This role requires a seasoned HR professional with expertise across the full HR spectrum, including policy development, recruitment, training and development, performance management, compensation and benefits, employee relations, and HR reporting. The position also plays a pivotal role in organizational design, job evaluation, and ensuring HR practices are aligned with legal requirements and industry best practices.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
 1. Policy & Procedure Development

•    Lead the development, review, and periodic revision of HR policies, procedures, and employee handbook to ensure alignment with labor laws and organizational needs.
•    Provide guidance to management and staff on the consistent application and interpretation of HR policies.

2. Talent Acquisition
•    Manage the end-to-end recruitment cycle: job advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, selection, offer negotiation, onboarding, and orientation.
•    Ensure hiring practices align with organizational goals and foster a diverse and inclusive workforce.

3. Training & Development
•    Conduct training needs assessments across departments to identify skill gaps and development opportunities.
•    Design and implement the organization’s annual Training & Development Plan.
•    Coordinate internal and external training sessions and evaluate their effectiveness.

4. Performance Management
•    Support the administration of the organization’s performance management system to ensure timely, consistent, and constructive performance evaluations.
•    Guide managers and employees in setting objectives and KPIs, providing feedback, and managing performance improvement processes.

5. Compensation & Benefits
•    Manage the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll, including salaries, allowances, benefits, and statutory deductions.
•    Ensure statutory deductions are remitted on time and maintain compliance with employee benefits plans and labor regulations.
•    Administer employee benefits programs and serve as the point of contact for employee inquiries.

6. Employee Relations
•    Investigate and resolve employee complaints, grievances, and disciplinary matters in alignment with the organization's Progressive Disciplinary procedures.
•    Advise and support management in implementing appropriate employee relations strategies.

7. Reporting & Analytics
•    Prepare and present monthly and quarterly HR reports, including Manpower, attrition, recruitment status, training, and Board reports.
•    Analyze HR metrics to support strategic decision-making.
•    Champion digital transformation initiatives within HR to enhance operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.

8. Organizational Design
•    Support the development and ongoing maintenance of organizational structures.
•    Collaborate with leadership to ensure that job roles, responsibilities, and reporting lines are aligned with strategic objectives.

9. Job Description Review & KPI Creation
•    Maintain up-to-date job descriptions for all roles and ensure they reflect current responsibilities and organizational structure.
•    Support departments in the development and alignment of KPIs with organizational goals.

10. Records Management
•    Maintain an organized, secure, and up-to-date physical and electronic filing system for all employee records in accordance with data protection laws and company policies.
•    Other related duties as assigned.


ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Social Sciences or a related field.
•    Minimum of six (6) years’ progressive HR generalist experience, preferably within the financial services sector.
•    SHRM certification would be considered an asset.
•    Experience with payroll systems and HRIS platforms.
•    Proven experience in policy development, organizational design, and employee relations.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•    Strong knowledge of labor legislation, HR best practices, and HR systems.
•    Demonstrated knowledge and experience with verification of payroll, including statutory payments to National Insurance Board and Board of Inland Revenue.
•    Attention to Detail & Accuracy: Demonstrates a high degree of precision in data handling, reporting, and documentation.
