Summary
The Operations Agent will report directly to the Station Manager. The position provides direct support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but not limited to:
  • To oversee the contractor’s opening and closing of the warehouse in the presence of Customs. i.e. Opening of all gates, export shed and reefers.
  • To oversee the receiving and tallying of Import shipments. To ensure correctly tallied Imports are “located” in the warehouse, outside area or the appropriate refer container.
  • To oversee and assist, if necessary, in the delivery to our Import customers from the warehouse or the coolers.
  • To oversee scanning of all cargo, Import or Export when required.
  • To ensure proper housekeeping practices.
  • Oversee inventory of the AMJ supplies (fish pads, plastic, tape, tags, labels etc.) and order additional products and supplies when needed, ensuring limited operational disruption.
  • To oversee the warehouse inventory process and keep a copy of the Inventory Report once completed.
  • The job may entail lifting small boxes (no heavier than 5kgs).
  • To oversee the Acceptance of all export shipments as well as the Palletization of the exports prior to staging on the Airport Ramp.
  • Ensure Compliance: Monitor adherence to legal and regulatory standards, ensuring that the organization operates within required frameworks.
  • Documentation: Maintain thorough documentation of audit processes, findings and compliance checks to support transparency and accountability
  • Assist with coordinating all maintenance and facilities with the plumber, electrician, landscaping, pest control and other contractors.
  • Liaise with Customers on shipment irregularities, support customers with filling claims via web portal and refer to claims department.
  • Liaise with Customs and Excise daily on flight operations, warehouse operations and or general concerns.
  • To perform Ramp duties for flight -Supervision of loading etc.
  • Working closely with Contractor to ensure the efficient use of space in the warehouse and coolers, as well as the issuance of PTRs and timely transfer of courier shipments.
  • Prepare and submit relevant reports and notifications/updates to Customs and other local Authorities with Flight Manifests, Flight Schedules, lists of Special Cargo, tonnage and flight statistics and other detailed data in accordance with the required frequency.
  • Follow up on emails and any other related duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

  • Must attain established work standards of quality and quantity on a consistent basis by process or function.
  • Must not exceed tardiness and absence allowances as established in the Company’s Employee Manual.
  • Consistently follows Company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and ensure the accurate processing of documentation.
  • Ensures accurate and timely reporting.
  • Accurately verify all inspections required.
  • Maintains amicable relationships with all company employees and business partners.

SKILLS and/or ABILITIES:
  • Demonstrated flexibility to work effectively in a 24/7 operation with cross-departmental functionality and optimization. Ability to work on weekends and holidays
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Customer service experience
  • Must be a well-organized, self-motivated individual who works well under pressure
  • Analyses and resolves complex cross-functional issues.

EDUCATION and/or CERTIFICATION:
  • Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics or related discipline requires a combination of education and significant related experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics, freight forwarding or cargo airlines.
