Reporting to: Facility Manager
JOB OVERVIEW
The Senior HVAC Supervisor will support the delivery of the team’s maintenance activities.
This role requires shift work including Saturdays and emergency callouts.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This role will include a variety of tasks including the following:
- Supervisor HVAC teams daily activities
- Manage schedules
- Quality Control
- Troubleshooting defective HVAC systems and equipment to make diagnoses.
- Performing preventative maintenance by cleaning reheat coils and air handling units, and monitoring and calibrating air handling units.
- Improving air quality by cleaning ducts to optimize efficiency.
- Fixing, replacing and adjusting vents, and ductwork.
- Ensuring condensation drain line is free of debris and draining properly.
- Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
- Keeping logs and records of maintenance functions.
- Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Health and Safety Act.
- Conduct checks/inspections as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Refrigeration and Air Condition Engineering Technician (NEC or City and Guilds)
- Minimum seven (7) years' experience in a supervisory role in the field of HVAC Maintenance
- Fire Alarm and Detection Systems.
- Electrical Installation.
- Commercial HAVAC Systems.
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience working in an industrial setting.
COMPETENCIES
- Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration and heating.
- Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
- Ability to work after hours, over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
- Proficient in the use of test meters and other diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, materials and equipment
- Working knowledge of country regulations relating to electrical work
- Exceptional customer service and client focus
- Working as part of a team
- Understanding and acting on customer requirements in line with documented client contracts
- Working to a high standard of accuracy in both literacy and numeracy
- Prioritising workload
- Working to tight timelines
- Excellent telephone and written communication skills
