Job Title: Senior Manager – Micro Financing
Reports To: GENERAL MANAGER
The Senior Manager will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations related to public loans, staff loans and hire purchase deals. This role requires a strategic leader who can drive business growth, ensure compliance, collaborate with marketing teams, and lead a dedicated team towards achieving exceptional business results.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of finance professionals to achieve business objectives.
- Overseeing the recruitment of new staff and ensuring all employees receive the required training to perform their respective roles effectively.
- Performance Evaluation of the team to ensure productivity is maintained.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Development of the framework to expand the business of non-FL business specifically
- Staff loans and Micro Financing
- Develop the Hire purchase loan portfolio
- Develop and implement strategies to expand the financial services arm aligned with organisational objectives.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow the portfolio annually.
- Identify and assess financial risks, such as market risks, credit risks, and operational risks.
- Develop strategies to mitigate risks and safeguard the organization's financial assets.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts; optimizing expenses and improving revenue.
- Analyse financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess the financial health of the organization.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to effectively promote financial products.
- Implement innovative marketing strategies to enhance product visibility.
- Ensure all loan applications are processed efficiently and decisions (approval/decline) are made timely.
- Act on all leads promptly to maximize conversion rates.
- Ensure all operations comply with relevant regulations and standards.
- Maintain financial discipline and manage the arm's budget effectively.
- Generate and implement innovative ideas to improve and expand financial services.
- Develop strategic plans to deliver measurable business results.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar supervisory role within the financial services industry.
- Proven experience in lending, including public loans, staff loans, hire purchase etc.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business growth strategies.
- Exceptional understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including marketing.
