Location: Tunapuna
Job Summary:
To develop purchasing strategies, coordinate with internal teams regarding supply needs, and to oversee all purchasing activities on a timely basis.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- To work with relevant team members for securing materials, goods, and services for completion of jobs.
- Researching and identifying prospective suppliers.
- Sourcing and buying materials, goods, and services on behalf of the Company.
- Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services
- Evaluating vendors, comparing their products, prices, and services.
- Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers to ensure the best terms and conditions.
- Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc.
- Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records
- Monitoring stock levels and identifying purchasing needs.
- Implementing and enforcing company procurement and procedures.
- Reviewing quality of purchased products and resolving any discrepancies.
- Conduct research and negotiations with vendors.
- Manage vendor relationships.
Education:
- Five (5) CXC Passes (O’Levels or CSEC), inclusive of Mathematics and English Language
- At least Diploma Level Certification of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (C.I.P.S) or equivalent discipline from a recognized institution.
- Computer Literate, Word & Excel
Experience:
- At least two (2) years’ working experience in a purchasing or logistics role.
- Good working knowledge of auto mechanical and electricals parts and services will be an asset.
Competencies & Skills
- Strong negotiation skills to negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
- Possesses excellent analytical skills to evaluate proposals from vendors and select the most suitable ones.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills are also important for liaising with vendors and internal departments.
- Knowledge of supply chain management and understanding of market trends will be beneficial.
