Job Title: SECURITY OFFICER
Department: Security
Reports To:
- Security Supervisor
- Facilities Manager

Position Summary:
The Person in this position will be expected to maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and guests by monitoring and patrolling the Hotel. He/She must be able to work on weekends and public holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Secure premises and personnel by regular monitoring and patrolling of the Hotel and carpark, remain vigilant for anything unusual or potentially threatening.
- Maintain a log of all activities and events in the Station Diary and/or any other logbooks provided.
- Conduct random employee searches and log them accordingly.
- Conduct investigations of accidents/incidents and document effectively.
- Respond to emergency situations using proper procedures and protocol and document accordingly.
- Follow the various Standing Orders. (see attached)
- Maintain a presence in the Lobby and assist the Front Desk Staff with the processing of Guests as required.
- Assist with carrying guest luggage to rooms.
- Conduct all duties in conformance with Health and Safety (H&S) requirements.
- Be familiar with the Health and Safety and Emergency response procedures
- Follow all fire, health and safety regulations as they relate to the Security Department
- Report any injuries, accidents or health and safety concerns to the Manager/Supervisor or HSE Committee
- Perform any other duties as required by the Manager/Supervisor
Working Conditions:
- Spends majority of work day on standing or walking for extended periods of time.
- Ability to move, lift, carry, push and/or pull objects weighing a minimum of 50 lbs. • Occasional pushing or pulling.
- Occasional ascending and descending stairs.
- May be required to pass a physical/medical fitness test.
- Subject to alcohol and substance/drug tests at any given time
- Required to work on a shift basis including nights, weekends and public holidays
Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
- At least five (5) O’Level passes including Math and English Language
- A minimum of two years’ experience in Security preferably in the Hospitality field
- Must be First Aid/CPR certified.
