Position Title: Maintenance Engineer

Department: Reliability & Projects

Division:Operations

Reports To: Maintenance Superintendent (Converting)

Division Head: Director - Operations
 
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for supporting the Maintenance Team in planning and executing in the areas of mechanical and electrical activities in the converting plant.

RESPONSIBILITES
  1. Provide support to the Team’s reliability goals, both short and long term.
  2. Support the Maintenance Team on a daily basis, which includes but not limited to, assisting with troubleshooting for major breakdowns and advising on short-term & medium-term actions to support machine reliability. 
  3. Assist in failure mode analysis to Mechanical and E&I equipment and components.
  4. Collaborate with the Planner in preparing work orders, requisitions & procedures; prioritize jobs based on reliability data, A3, ACLs and WO listing. 
  5. Participate in the planning of upcoming shutdowns.
  6. Support the achievement of the department’s KPIs - completion of A3s, OT reports and schedule compliance. 
  7. Attend related departmental meetings
  8. Provide support and ensure all safety systems, power systems and DCS systems are well maintained and operational. 
  9. Inform the Supervisor / Superintendent on outstanding issues and pending risks.
  10. Actively participate in activities to build team spirit at every level of the organization. 
  11. Support in the documentation process regarding breakdowns, projects and upgrades.
  12. Adhere to, actively promote and ensure compliance with the Company’s Health and Safety Policies. 
  13. Report any unsafe acts immediately to your Direct Supervisor; operate in a safe manner, using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
  14. Execute all relevant responsibilities as outlined in the Roles, Responsibilities and Authorities Matrix (MT-GM-004) to ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS).
  15. Perform any other related duties that may be assigned.

EDUCATION & TRAINING
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or any other related discipline from a recognized institution.

EXPERIENCE
  • University degree from an established tertiary education institute.
