Description
The Desalination Company of Trinidad and Tobago Limited (Desalcott) maintains its position as the largest operating desalination facility in the western hemisphere. The plant produces and supplies potable water to the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA).
Desalcott is currently seeking to recruit two (2) dynamic individuals to fill the positions of RECEPTIONIST/ ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT.
The locations for these positions are:
1) Desalcott’s Administration Building – Point Lisas Industrial Estate, Point Lisas
2) Desalcott’s and HKL Administration Building - Caroni E-Teck Industrial Park.
Job Summary:
Responsible for answering all incoming telephone calls and receiving visitors.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answering all incoming telephone calls to Desalcott and directs caller to the respective personnel/department.
- Relay efficient messages when the person is not available for telephone calls.
- Assist employees with placing outgoing calls as and when required, inclusive of international calls.
- Receive and greet visitors/suppliers in a professional manner.
- Co-ordinate meetings.
- Record and distribute mail received via couriers (Fedex & TT Post, DHL etc.).
- Call Suppliers related to the issuance of cheques.
- Keep proper records and arrange gate passes.
- Type all envelopes for mailing of purchase orders/other documentation as required.
- Schedule meetings as required.
- Document control.
- Any other Receptionist and Administrative duties as assigned by the Manager.
Qualification/s:
- Minimum 5 CXC passes including English
- Diploma in Business Management
- Computer Literate [Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel]
- Switchboard Training
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related field
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Team Player
- High level of integrity
- Adaptable
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite [Word and Excel]
