Description
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage receivables due to the company, including the recording, collection, banking, maintenance of receivables records, and assist in write-off of irrecoverable amounts.
- Capture and maintain Masterfile information (creditors, debtors, payroll, assets) on the accounting system.
- Responsible for follow-up phone calls/emails and letters to track billing records, payment requests, bank statements, and anything financial that needs follow-up.
- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and field/answer all routine and non-routine questions.
- Maintain a variety of manual and electronic documents, files, and records for the purpose of providing up-to-date information and/or historical reference in accordance with established administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
- Perform other related duties as may be required.
- Assist with the maintenance of all customer accounts, billings, and payments.
- Assist with the payment transactions ensuring they are correctly classified and supported by appropriate source documentation.
- Assist with cash management, responsible for processing links and card transactions.
- Assist management with customer data requests, making phone calls, and preparing reports, letters, and general correspondence.
- Provide back-up administrative support and assistance with records and mail as required, including during staff vacations and absences.
- Assist with upselling and cross-selling where the opportunity presents itself.
Education & Experience
- ACCA Level 1 or equivalent
- At least one year in a similar position with an adequate working knowledge of accounting processes.
- Knowledge of the use of the QuickBooks accounting software would be an asset.
- Experience with bank reconciliations, VAT returns, and quarterly taxes would be an asset.
- Some sales experience

- Able to learn and use computer and computer-based applications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to establish priorities and manage multiple activities to meet deadlines.
- Ability to complete tasks with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Is friendly, pleasant, courteous, and professional when dealing with internal or external clients.
